Avery Knapp MD

Avery Knapp, M.D. – Chief Neuroradiologist

Board Certified in Diagnostic Radiology and Fellowship Trained in Neuroradiology, Avery J. Knapp, Jr., M.D., has been actively practicing since 2008. Dr. Knapp received his Bachelors of Liberal Arts and Medical Degree at the University of Missouri – Kansas City’s 6-year combined degree program. He completed his internship at Swedish Covenant Hospital in Chicago, IL, and his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at The Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. He was selected as Chief Resident in Radiology at Lenox Hill Hospital. Dr. Knapp then completed Neuroradiology fellowship training at Harbor-UCLA.

Dr. Knapp previously worked as partner radiologist at Sparks Hospital in Arkansas from 2010-2013. Presently, Dr. Knapp maintains 47 active licenses and growing.

Dr. Knapp performs full-time radiology duties including the interpretation of MRI, CT, ultrasound, and nuclear medicine testing. He subspecializes in injuries and disorders of the brain and spine, with a particular interest in trauma-related radiology. Dr. Knapp regularly provides expert radiology consultation, review of studies, medical records, and testimony in trials and depositions.

Jeffrey David Lewine, Ph.D. – Neuroscientific Advisor

Jeffrey David Lewine, Ph.D., is a Professor of Translational Neuroscience at the MIND Research Network in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He is also an adjunct associate professor in the departments of Psychology and Neurology at the University of New Mexico, the Director of Neuroscience for Lovelace Scientific Resources, the Director of Clinical Research for Cognionics Inc, and the CEO of the Center for Advanced Diagnostics, Evaluation, and Therapeutics – NM. In addition, Dr. Lewine is the principal neuroscientific consultant for the MINDSET Consulting Group which supports the use of neuroscientific data in legal settings.

Dr. Lewine’s research uses psychophysical, behavioral and brain imaging methods to study brain structure and function in health and disease. He has done research on a wide range of clinical conditions including autism, ADHD, depression, dyslexia, epilepsy, schizophrenia, multiple sclerosis, tinnitus, post-traumatic stress disorder, and traumatic brain injury. These investigations have been funded, in part, by the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, the Department of Energy, the Department of Defense, BARDA, Cure Autism Now, NARSAD, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs.

Dr. Lewine received his doctorate in neuroscience in 1989 from the University of Rochester. Following completion of his graduate training, he was named a Director’s Fellow at Los Alamos National Laboratory where he worked on the development of advanced brain imaging technologies. Dr. Lewine has previously directed functional brain imaging programs in New Mexico, Utah, Kansas, and Illinois. He is the co-author of a textbook on functional brain imaging and he has co-authored more than 100 articles and book chapters.

John Davis – Marketing Director

John Davis is the marketing director for the Concussion Group. He has been with the Concussion Group since 2019. His experience includes work as marketing manager for diagnostic imaging facilities and 8 years at WebMD, where he served as director of program marketing and audience engagement. Before joining The Concussion Group, he was Director of Audience Targeting for NOLA.com and an adjunct instructor for the School of Mass Communications at Loyola University New Orleans. He supports attorney outreach and imaging partner on-boarding for the Concussion Group.
